Toponymy
The street registry is the backbone supporting house numbers, civil records, and services. The toponymic census ensures street names, their extent, and codes are aligned between physical locations, municipal records, and regional databases.
What we verify
- Official name of each street, square, and circulation area
- Extent and boundaries of each axis, with odonym coding
- Consistency between municipal street registry and Tuscany Region portal data
- Association between streets, house numbers, and driveways
- Supporting photographic material where necessary
What remains with the Municipality
- An official, aligned street registry usable by all departments
- The correct foundation for assigning and revising house numbers
- Fewer discrepancies with civil records, cadastre, and emergency services
- Access from technical offices and smartphones during site visits
- Delivery on PostGIS database and publication on municipal WebGIS
How it works
We start from the existing street registry and regional data, then verify uncertain situations in the field. This is followed by validation and delivery on WebGIS. Where needed, we provide staff training on software use.
